BTC Lewallen is a stackable, heavy sans-serif that draws its strength from heritage and grit, a tribute to the ghost sign of the Harlan Hotel, which first opened its doors in 1913 and closed in 1965. Built from the visual language of old masonry and hand-painted lettering, BTC Lewallen captures the hard-working spirit of the miners and travelers who once passed through the region, leaving their marks upon its walls.
BTC Lewallen is built to do a job. Its solid shapes work well in bold, graphic settings, from signage and packaging to short, punchy text. It doesn’t try to be elegant, and it doesn’t need to be. Its strength is in its simplicity and its tie to a specific place and time.At its core, BTC Lewallen is about resilience: a piece of lettering shaped by a hard-working town, built to stand the test of time.
